Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species is currently known from four locations with general threats to its habitat type being overgrazing, charcoal production and drought (Ullah and Gadain 2016, Worku et al. 2018, Meshesha et al. 2019). Through reviewing historic and current satellite imagery, this species is inferred to be threatened by agriculture and grazing at the location east of Degehabur (Ethiopia); the presence of grazing pens and settlement expansion in close proximity to the location between Kebri Dehar and Shilabo (Ethiopia), and widespread agriculture at the location east of Dinsoor (Somalia). Due to the species' association with deep shade, actions which lead to an opening of tree cover or tree felling, such as charcoal production and fuelwood harvesting, are likely to threaten this species. Additionally the invasive Prosopis juliflora has been observed expanding along the road from Kebri Dehar-Shilabo road (Sileshi, N. pers. comm. 2022). This species is associated with widespread habitat degradation throughout Ethiopia (Waksum et al. 2018, Sintayehu et al. 2020) through outcompeting native flora, creating a closed canopy, and sourcing water at a faster rate (Sileshi, N. pers. comm. 2022).
