There are no documented direct threats or pressures on this species. However, grazing is quite frequent within its range and can sometimes be intense in semi-mountainous and mountainous areas of Crete. In addition, in the wider area of its distribution, there are plans for the construction of wind farms which could potentially lead to a decline in the number of individuals of the species as well as the quality of its habitat.
