It is considered to be an abundant plant. This species currently does not have survival problems. It is recommended to increase the research efforts to better understand the population size, and distribution.

There are no known human threats. One threat faced by the plant in nature is root rot (ASU 2020). If Apis (bee) populations decline in the same area the species occurs, then they could become threatened because bees are their natural pollinators (Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery 2020).
