The species is present in the protected area Los Quejigales Natural Park in southern Spain (Zonneveld 2010). This taxon is listed on Annexes II and IV of the Habitats Directive under the name Narcissus pseudonarcissus subsp. nobilis (EEC 1992). More research is needed regarding its taxonomic status.
