Estimation externe : 2 234 species living
Les estimations externes (Mora 2011, etc.) prédisent souvent un nombre total d'espèces supérieur aux espèces décrites — ce qui suggère qu'il reste des espèces à découvrir et formaliser.

- Distribution and habitat. Currently confirmed only from the type locality (Chuzhou City, eastern Anhui Province), but potentially occurring in adjacent areas of Nanjing City and Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. It grows in deciduous broad-leaved forests on limestone hills, in mixed populations where Lycoris sprengeri (eastern Hubei, central-eastern Anhui, central Jiangsu) and L. longituba (central-eastern Anhui, central Jiangsu) co-occur.1 esp.
- Distribution and habitat: — Allium brevipedicellatum is distributed in areas at an elevation of 2200 to 2700 meters on the eastern slope of Helan Mountain, including Huangqigou, Ruqigou and Suyukougou (Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region), and on the western slope, including Halawugou and Nansigou (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region) (Fig. 4). Its typical habitats include stony slopes, rock crevices of mountain ridges, shrubbery and grassland communities. Furthermore, the Flora of Inner Mongolia states that the species under discussion is also distributed in Langshan and Zhuozishan of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as well as in the Qilian Mountains (Gansu Province and Qinghai Province) (Zhao et al. 2020).1 esp.
- Distribution and habitat: — Allium murat-sonayii is a local endemic restricted to near Mt. Hesarek in Elazığ province, Eastern Anatolia. It is an element of Irano – Turanian phytogeographical region (see Davis 1971). The new species is only distributed on the summit of near Mt. Hesarek, in stony areas, at 2300 m of elevation (Fig. 1). Species growing nearby are Acantholimon saxifragiforme Hausskn. ex Mobayen, Aethionema speciosum Boiss. & A. Huet, Allium shinasii Armağan, Fritillaria crassifolia Boiss. & A. Huet, Helichrysum plicatum subsp. polyphyllum (Ledeb.) P. H. Davis & Kupicha, Mesostemma kotschyanum (Fenzl ex Boiss.) Vved., Sabulina juniperina (L.) Dillenb. & Kadereit, Stachys lavandulifolia Vahl, Polygonum setosum Jacq., Silene chlorifolia Sm., Thymus leucotrichus Halácsy.1 esp.
- Distribution and habitat: — The new species is exclusive to the alpine meadows on ophiolitic bedrock of Mount Sandras, within the borders of Muğla / Denizli provinces. Sandras Mountain, located in southwestern Anatolia, represents one of the major centers of plant diversity in Türkiye, characterized by a remarkably high rate of endemism. In recent years, new species continue to be discovered in the area. These species have been discovered near Allium oculisandrasicum. Some of them are as follows: Muscari serpentinicum Yıldırım, Altıoglu & Pirhan in Pirhan et al. (2015: 3), Leopoldia muglaensis (Eker et al. 2020: 268) Eker (2022: 79), and Allium ayhan-toprakii Yıldırım in Özdöl et al. (2022: 233). Allium oculisandrasicum grows in very limited areas of alpine meadows at altitudes of 2115 – 2200 m on Mount Sandras. It is confined to this region and is floristically allied to the East Mediterranean element.1 esp.
- Distribution, habitat and ecology: — Allium peikingense is currently known to be distributed in Shangfang Mountain, Baihua Mountain, Da'an Mountain, and Songshan in Beijing, China. It was observed to grow in low mountain slopes and forest edges at elevations below 1500 m a. s. l.1 esp.
