État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
Although this species is scarce in Lebanon and Syria, it is considered fairly widespread in Turkey and there is no evidence to suggest a decline of its population at the level of the Mediterranean region. No precise estimation of the number of mature individuals is available at present. In Lebanon, some groups of subpopulations, such as those in the region of Jezzine or the ones in the region of Tannourine, are isolated from each other, though not considered severely fragmented. Local declines have been observed in parts of its range due to threats such as urban and infrastructure development, and mining (H. El Zein pers. comm. 2017).

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Urban development, road construction and quarrying are local threats which are considered important in Lebanon (H. El Zein pers. comm. 2017). There is no evidence to suggest these are major threats at Mediterranean level.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
All Galanthus spp. are included under Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES 2017). It seems plausible for this species to occur in the protected area of Tannourine Cedar Forest in Lebanon (H. El Zein pers. comm. 2017). There is no information on the conservation measures in place for his species for this species. Research on its distribution and population size and trends is recommended.
