État de la populationExpert
There is no population information for this species but it is suspected to be rare as it is only known from four herbarium specimens. Although the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Guinean botanists have carried out botanical fieldwork across Guinea since 2006 the species has not been recollected. Surveys for this species at the three known localities are recommended.

Description complète des menacesExpert
With limited information on the exact localities for this species it is difficult to identify specific threats. In South Sudan the grassland where the species had been collected was recently burnt. Fire may be a threat, but many geophytes have adapted to fires in grasslands and further research on this species fire adaption is recommended. This locality is within the Imatong Forest Reserve but at lower elevations nearby there are some small villages and agricultural areas are visible on satellite imagery. Livestock grazing occurs within the reserve (K. Vollesen pers. comm. 2019) and is suspected to be a threat. In Sierra Leone the species was collected close to the border with Guinea and some small villages and agricultural areas are visible on satellite imagery. The only known locality in Guinea is Labé, which is now a large town surrounding by agriculture. As the herbarium specimen from Labé was collected in 1905 it is possibly the species is extinct in this area.
