État de la populationExpert

No quantitative population data are available for this species and the current population trend is unknown. It is known in herbaria from only three specimens, collected in 1970 and 1982. However, given its small, slender growth habit it could easily be overlooked and so may be under-recorded.

Description complète des menacesExpert
This species is impacted by habitat loss and degradation across its range. The alluvial grasslands within its range that this species favours are impacted by expanding agricultural activity as the soils are highly fertile. For example, the location west of Ambo is now largely converted to farmland. There is also a threat from high levels of pastoral grazing in the remaining riverine grasslands (Sileshi Nemomissa pers. obs.).

Habitats préférentiels (classification IUCN)

  • 2_1Savanna - Dry
Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
No specific conservation measures or management plan are in place for this species. It is not known to occur in any protected areas (UNEP-WCMC and IUCN 2020) or in any ex situ plant collections (BGCI 2020).
