Dipcadi heterocuspe is found in 11 protected areas including Andohahela National Park, Analamerana Special Reserve, Cap Sainte Marie Special Reserve, Ibity Massif Harmonious Protected Landscape, Itremo Massif Harmonious Protected Landscape, Isalo National Park, Ivohibe Pic Special Reserve, Manjakatompo Ankaratra National Ressources Reserve, Ranobe PK 32, Tsinjoriaka Harmonious Protected Landscape and Tsimanampetsotsa National Park, where 14 subpopulations are protected. The species is recorded in three ex situ living collections (BGCI 2022) and seeds have been banked at the Millennium Seed Bank - Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, UK (Genesys 2022).
