There is no information on the population size or trend of this species, however, the overall population is inferred to be declining as some of the habitat in sites supporting this species has been converted to agriculture or oil palm plantation.

The sites in Sarawak supporting known populations of this species have been badly damaged by human activities including logging, forest clearance for oil palm plantations and cutting of trees for a power line. Populations in Kalimantan are threatened by clearance for agriculture.
