État de la populationExpert
In areas where this species occurs, subpopulations tend to occur as separate patches, all of which are small and involve few plants. Extensive surveys of streams in the Lanjak Entimau Wildlife Sanctuary resulted in location of subpopulations in three streams, two of which supported only small, scattered subpopulations, with abundant plants in the third. It occurred as one or two scattered plants at one other site and single patches in the remainder. The population trend is inferred to be declining with an inferred continuing decline in the number of mature individuals.

Description complète des menacesExpert
Most of the sites where this species occurs are not protected and are already suffering or threatened by the factors affecting all lowland river systems in Borneo: the primary and secondary effects of forest degradation and clearance, direct habitat destruction and pollution. It occurs in one strictly protected area, however, even here it is vulnerable to illegal collection.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
There are no conservation measures in place for this species. This species occurs in Lanjak Entimau Wildlife Sanctuary which is strictly protected and where the risk of habitat destruction should be limited. There is an urgent need to visit known populations to assess the current threat level to the species and habitat, as well as to assess potential for protection of more populations.
