État de la populationExpert
Spanish subpopulations, at least, are severely fragmented. It has been estimated, from subpopulations present in the Iberian Peninsula, that the total number of localities may be around 50. In southeastern Spain in the province of Murcia (one of the most important territories for this species), subpopulations studied experienced a decline in the number of plants from 2,000 to 200 in 10 years. In North Africa the species is not rare and occurs in numerous localities.

The same could be happening in the coastal range of the species in North Africa.
