The number of mature individuals was estimated to be fewer than 250 individuals. Surveys in 2013 and 2014 did not find more than 55 mature individuals in all five known localities (Tsakiri et al. 2016). Repeated surveys (2012-2014) could not locate this species at the locus classicus, suggesting that this subpopulation might have gone extinct (Tsakiri et al. 2016).
