The population size is overall stable, although some populations have been lost in Israel. The plant is likely to have had a larger distribution in Lebanon and populations are likely to have been lost as a result of habitat conversion.

This species is recorded from the Ajloun Forest Reserve and the Tel Ar-Rumman Royal Botanic Garden in Jordan. In Israel and Palestine most populations are not in protected areas.
