There is no information on population size and trends. It is only know from few localities and a few individuals. The subpopulation on the island of Lesvos is bigger and all the individuals are found within the same locality.

There is no specific information regarding threats at most of the known localities of the species. At least two of its localities on Kalymnos are within urban development zones and the plant is threatened by habitat loss. Also in Lesvos the species could be affected by construction of infrastructures (e.g. roads).
