État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
Astypalaia was visited during June 2023 and the species was recorded for the first time after its description in 1998. The three known localities on the main island of Astypalaia were surveyed, but the species was recorded only in the abandoned castle of Agios Ioannis. Only 22 mature individuals were counted at this locality. The total population is therefore estimated to be fewer than 250 mature individuals.

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
One of the known localities is close to the main urban area of the island and might be affected by human activities. The other localities are estimated to be affected by grazing. The locality in Kounoupoi islet could be affected by stochastic events. It is not known whether any of these threats are currently causing any continuing decline.
