État de la populationExpert
The population is inferred to be declining based on the loss of subpopulations within Israel and Palestine (INPA 2016). The population is considered to be severely fragmented.

In Lebanon, the plant is reported to be 'common' from 1,600 m to the summit at 2,804 m (INPA 2016), although subpopulations within Israel are much smaller (e.g., c.50 plants at Kiryat HaYovel; INPA 2016).

Description complète des menacesExpert
The plant is assumed to be impacted by habitat conversion (urban development and settlement) and agriculture throughout its range, and subpopulations are known to have been lost as a result in Israel and Palestine (INPA 2016).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert

Confirmation of the current distribution of this species is required, especially in Anatolia, where the species appears to be known from a few scattered but widespread records. Research and monitoring of distributions and populations is required, and conservation sites identified. Ex-situ conservation is recommended, and the plant is considered Vulnerable in Israel (INPA 2016).

EURISCO reports one germplasm accession of A. albotunicatum held in European genebanks, none of which are reported to be of wild or weedy origin (EURISCO Catalogue 2010).
