The population of Agave nashii is stable. There are thousands of individuals spread out along the southern coastline of Great Inagua, of which between 500 and 1,000 of those are estimated to be mature individuals.

Agave nashii occurs in low lying coastal areas that will become prone to flooding and salt water intrusion as sea levels rise and suitable habitat is lost.

Agave nashii does not have any populations within an in situ conservation area. It is found in one ex situ collection (BGCI 2019), grown at the Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve on Eleuthera and is being planted in gardens around the country.
