Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2019). The broader sense of the Crocker Range includes both protected and non-protected areas. The two available collections were made along a road (exact localities unknown), which increases the risk of habitat degradation and negative effects from pollution.

Due to the general locality information it is not known if this species is present in any protected areas. It is known that the two available collections were made from along a road, which increases the risk of habitat degradation, even if in a protected area. It has not been recorded by BGCI (2019) to be grown ex situ.
