Habitat conversion can be seen within the extent of occurrence (EOO). By 2018 around 10% of the tree cover within the EOO had been lost, in comparison to 2000 (GFW 2019).

This species has not been recorded by BGCI (2019) to be grown ex situ. Some of the collections were made in protected areas such as Taman Negara Pahang (National Park) and Budo-Sungai Padi National Park in which parts of the distribution should stay conserved (Protected Planet 2019, ZRC 2019, Holttum 1950).
