The forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of logging and conversion to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2019). This species was found in lowland forest (150 m asl.) outside any protected area (Protected Planet 2019), making it especially threatened. The palm oil plantations in this area are under continuous expansion.
