The species has five known subpopulations. Population size is unknown, with there being only one report about the type locality where the subpopulation appears to be very small. It is possible that the species has more subpopulations, therefore further research on population distribution and abundance is required.

Four of the five known subpopulations of the species occur in landscapes dominated by forests, with low disturbance by human activities. The type locality is near a town, and the habitat has been destroyed there. Further information on potential threats to the species is required.
