Zamia lecointei

Known subpopulations of the species occur in landscapes dominated by forests, with low disturbance by human activities. It is suspected that most subpopulations are viable and occur in healthy habitats.

This species is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. Little is known about the conservation status for the species; nevertheless, most subpopulations occur in healthy forests in Amazonia, therefore they are suspected to be viable. A few subpopulations are distributed within protected areas and the species has been recorded in some ex situ collections. Further research on the ecology of the species is recommended, to ensure that populations and habitats are viable for the long term.
