État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
Zamia amazonum is known from many localities throughout the Amazon basin. No field surveys or detailed demographic studies have been carried out for the species. Subpopulations are present in forest-dominated landscapes with low disturbance by human activities, therefore, it is suspected that the total population size could be large. It is possible that the species has more subpopulations, therefore further research on population distribution and abundance is required.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
This species is listed in CITES Appendix II. Little is known about the conservation status of the species; nevertheless, most subpopulations occur in healthy forests in Amazonia. Therefore, they are suspected to be viable. A few subpopulations are distributed within protected areas and the species has been recorded in some ex situ collections. Further research on the ecology of the species is recommended, to ensure that subpopulations and habitats are viable for the long term.
