Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
The most significant threat in the region is associated with illegal artisanal gold mining activity on the Mozambique side of the border, which is currently diminishing in scale but could potentially return in the future. The direct threat from the mining is largely restricted to the river valleys and alluvial plains. This species' favoured seepage areas amongst quartzite are frequent and only a small percentage of these are impacted by this mining activity.
