This species is often collected but this is not thought to be causing any serious declines, whilst livestock overgrazing is also a threat across parts of the range especially trampling damage, but again its impact is thought to be minimal (Davletkeldiev 2006). The primary threat comes from landslides and mud flows which are common in the area and which could lead to the loss of subpopulations very rapidly.
