État de la populationExpert
There is extremely limited information regarding the population size or population trend of this species. There is broader evidence of other species in similar habitats that are in decline due to threats such as livestock overgrazing (Dimeyeva et al. 2015, Mirzabaev et al. 2016, Wilson et al. 2021), but currently there is not enough information surrounding this species to assess it based on population numbers.

Description complète des menacesExpert
This species is primarily threatened by livestock overgrazing across its habitat as well as the development of infrastructure for tourists and corresponding recreational activities. This species occurs next to a lake that is a popular tourist destination and there is an increasing number of hotels being built. Changing patterns in rainfall and temperature due to climate change may also cause a decline in both extent and quality of habitat (Wilson et al. 2021), however the impact of this threat is uncertain.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is not known from any protected areas and there is currently no legislation protecting it. There are a few specimens in the ex situ collections of J.J. de Groot and the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden in the Netherlands. At the moment there are no in situ conservation activities in place to protect this species.
