There is currently no in-place research, monitoring or management of this species, but the population is large and stable. This species is nationally red listed as Vulnerable in Uzbekistan (Tojibaev and Beshko 2015). This species occurs in the Dashman Nature Reserve and is also thought to grow in the Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve, both in Kyrgyzstan. This species is known from 19 ex situ collections (BGCI 2022).
