Description complète des menacesExpert
This species may already be extinct (Elias 1983), however if subpopulations exist the threats will be similar to that of Tulipa praestans that grows in similar habitat areas. This will particularly include livestock overgrazing, urbanisation, expansion of agricultural land and subsequent ploughing, and collection and trade. These threats are occurring around the city of Kangurt, however it is unclear the extent of these threats to this species given the lack of any known extant subpopulations.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species may already be extinct (Elias 1983) and is not known from any ex situ collections or herbaria. In addition, there is evidence that this may in fact be a form of Tulipa praestans (Tropicos 2022), although it is accepted by some taxonomic authorities (POWO 2022) and the name Tulipa boettgeri in fact is older than that of T. praestans. Expeditions are needed to search for subpopulations of this species and new material would be useful for clarifying the taxonomy of this species.
