Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species is endemic to Bolivia, where it is known from three localities in the Potosi Department, and one in the Chuquisaca Department. It occurs within the Bolivian montane dry forests, which are among one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world (Portillo-Quintero and Sánchez-Azofeifa 2009). It contains large areas of degraded land, and the region is heavily impacted by urban expansion and the associated conversion to agriculture (Fjeldså and Mayer 1996). In the Potosi Department, two collection sites are within the Sud Chichas Province, from localities around 5 km apart. A large area of agriculture is visible between the sites, on both sides of the river (Google Earth 2023), which is likely to increase the risk of landslides on the vertical cliffs this species occupies. This is similar for the third collection site in Potosi, although there is less agricultural land cover and a lot of the surrounding area here seems to remain undisturbed (Google Earth 2023). In the Chuquisaca Department, the species has been found near the city of Camargo, which is known for is wine production and has a growing population (Quispe 2017). The area also experiences annual extreme flood events, and it is unknown how this affects the species (Callizaya and Alejandra 2021).
