When it grows, the subpopulations can be quite large (100–200 individuals) and the species sets seed so there is a healthy population structure.

Siliquamomum alcicorne is currently known from four subpopulations at three locations. Two large subpopulations are within a 1 km radius, while the third and fourth subpopulations are about 20 km away in a NW direction. Logging activities have been noticed in the area, which is not protected by any legislative status. The areas are also subject to slash and burning for agriculture and a small hydroelectric power scheme has been built near one locality.
