There is little information available on threats directly affecting this species. More research is needed. Little natural vegetation appears to be left at one of the three locations in Ethiopia (2 km east of Ghedo, Shoa Region) due to agricultural expansion (as viewed using Google Earth satellite imagery). Due to its occurrence at high elevations, it may be impacted by global climate change.
