État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
The overall population size and current trend of this species are unknown. However, it has only been collected once and has been described as scarce (Hodel 1997, Barfod and Dransfield 2013), indicating it probably has a relatively small population size.
Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
As the exact locality from which this species was recorded is unknown, it is difficult to determine the type or extent of threats which may be affecting it. Satellite imagery and land use data from Global Forest Watch (2023) shows that the lowland area around Narathiwat is predominantly being used for agriculture, with little primary forest remaining. Most of the area under cultivation appears to be at elevations below 150 m asl though there is intact forest at higher elevations in surrounding protected areas. Until the exact distribution of this species can be confirmed, it is not possible to determine whether it is likely to be currently threatened or not.
