There are no significant past, ongoing or future threats to this species, however it is possible that it is threatened by the closing in of the vegetation in some parts of its range but this is considered not to be a major threat. It could also be potentially threatened by touristic development due to its coastal distribution.

The species occurs in numerous Natura 2000 protected areas. It is listed as Least Concern in the regional Red List of Vascular Plants of Corsica (Delage and Hugot 2015) and the French national Red List (UICN France et al. 2012). No conservation measures are in place and none is needed.
