The population is considered stable in Greece (National Technical University of Athens 1998-2015) and Sicily, however, the global population trend is not known. Population declines as a result of urbanization have been reported in parts of the range historically known for this species.

The population is considered 'Not Threatened' at national level in Greece (National Technical University of Athens 1998-2015).
