Description complète des menacesExpert
The main threat to this species is the abandonment of grazing practices and consequent modification and degradation of its habitat (Foggi et al. 2014).

Habitats préférentiels (classification IUCN)

  • 5_8Wetlands (inland) - Seasonal/Intermittent Freshwater Marshes/Pools (under 8ha)
Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
The plant occurs within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, UNESCO-MAB Biosphere Reserve (IUCN and UNEP-WCMC 2017). The species was assessed as CR (B1ab(iii,v)+B2(iii,v) on the Italian national Red List (Gennai and Foggi 2013), and as CR by Foggi et al. (2014).

Additional conservation actions required for this species include better land and water management in the areas where the species´ habitat is affected by the identified threats; a priority is the active management of habitat. Also, ex situ conservation practices such as saving seeds to genome resource banks are recommended. More research is needed on the species population size, distribution, trends, and threats in order to get a better understanding of the species conservation needs and status.
