Description complète des menacesExpert
In Mexico, the forest area has been progressively reduced, causing ecological, economic and social problems. Among the factors of greatest degradation are poorly planned forest uses, changes in the fire regime, grazing and air pollution as well as the strong pressure for the advance of the agricultural frontier, the urban sprawl, pests and diseases. Currently, the oyamel forests are often more protected from anthropogenic threats due to their inaccessible location, however, considering that forest fires are frequent in the area, concern for their conservation arises (Encina–Domínguez et al. 2008).
