Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Oak forests are the most exploited in the forest industry, they tend to do so in an unsustainable way for the production of coal and wood, which causes these forests to tend to secondary stages of succession and lead to an agricultural or livestock activity. In recent years, its exploitation has intensified due to the increase in demand for various raw materials (Ruiz et al. 2014). Illegal logging is present even in national protected areas (CONANP 2006). Grazing also causes various alterations in the environment, which consist of browsing of wild flora, including shoots, trampling of the soil by the flocks causes the collapse of the superficial layers of the soil that favours the erosion by the wind, and in turn, compaction of the soil, reducing the infiltration and favouring the runoff of the water and the dragging of the soil, helping the dissemination of invasive plants (CONANP 2006).
