Quercus dankiaensis is only known from one site in Dalat, and may already be extinct. As such, it is assumed to have a small population size of less than 50 mature individuals.
Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
There is little information regarding the direct threats to Quercus dankiaensis. As with many oaks, there could be the case of local firewood collecting which is of particular concern for rare species. Additionally, the landscape of Dalat is reported as becoming more fragmented due to rapid urbanization and land transformation (Estoque and Murayama 2016).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
Due to the extreme rarity of this species, surveys of known sites and adjacent protected sites with similar habitat are urgently needed. In particular, given that his species is known from only one population, and it is unknown if it persists there to this day, therefore inclusion in ex situ collections is strongly recommended. Quercus dankiaensis is not listed in any ex situ collections (BGCI 2020).
