Quercus chungii is listed in one ex situ collection according to BGCI's PlantSearch (2020), but it is listed here under it original name (Cyclobalanopsis chungii). The species was recently evaluated as Least Concern in the Threatened Species List of China's Higher Plants (Qin et al. 2017).
