Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
There is little information available regarding specific threats to Quercus asymmetrica. The species occurs in wet broadleaf forests in southern China, Viet Nam and on Hainan island. The species is very fragmented which presents a threat. A study by Zhai et al. (2015) looking at other tree species in Hainan forests (where Q. asymmetrica is reported to occur) reported habitat destruction and logging as an ongoing problem. Given this data, it is inferred that the species is presently, or will in the future be, threatened by habitat destruction and logging, all of which are made more concerning by the species fragmentation.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
More surveying and research is needed concerning Quercus asymmetrica's population size, dynamics, and threats. Additional in situ management of known populations as well as ex situ collection is recommended. Quercus asymmetrica is not reported in any ex situ collections (BGCI 2020).
