While the species is classed as globally 'Vulnerable' by NatureServe (2014) (note this is not the same as the IUCN Red List Category), they also state that it is "probably under-collected as large areas still unsurveyed. Very large range and probably not threatened overall". The Canadian Endangered Species Conservation Council (CESCC) also class the species as 'May be at risk' (for Canada only). Natureserve (2014) also state that there are 30+ Element Occurrences for the species in North America, 11 in Alaska and 20+ in Canada and that its short term population trend is presumed to be relatively stable.
