État de la populationExpert
No quantitative population data are available for this species. Until recently is was only known from eight herbarium specimens of which only two georeferenced locaties could be extracted. However, recent efforts have relocated the previously known localities and extended the knowledge of the species range to the 37 georeferenced records used here. Although having a very small range, the species is abundant there.

Description complète des menacesExpert

Possible threats need to be investigated further, since though agriculture, livestock and population pressure has intensified a lot in the area, the species is found on rock faces that are unlikely to be directly affected. However, Jacques-Félix (2000), who originally discovered the species, voiced concern that since a large number of individuals grow on the walls of a narrow gorge through which a national road passes, a road widening project might destroy most plants of the species. Another threat is global climate change, which has resulted in and is predicted to further result in drying of the climate in West Africa. This may affect the suitability of its habitat, definitely since the species occurs of rock faces where it depends on rain alone for its water uptake.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
No specific conservation measures or management plan are in place for this species.

This species has been recorded from the "Forêt classée de Mont Gangan" near Kindia in Guinea. However, that classification does not provide protected area status.
