Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Illegal logging, shifting agriculture, and urbanization serve as major threats to the quality of habitat of Pinanga negrosensis causing continuous loss of tree cover in the provinces (approximately 12,260 hectares since 2000 based on the analyzed data with Global Forest Watch).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
The species is not included in the Philippine Red List (DENR-BMB 2017). Its occurrence in key biodiversity areas (Mount Kambinlio and Mount Redondo; Cuernos de Negros) may serve as in situ conservation of the species. In addition, it is known in at least three botanic gardens globally as ex situ collections (BGCI 2021). Further surveying and research are needed to estimate its remaining population size in the wild. This will help in creating a relevant conservation action plan.
