Description complète des menacesExpert
This species is threatened by extensive habitat loss across its range. It resides in the Borneo peat swamp forests (WWF 2001-IM0104) which are threatened by fire and conversion of forest to agricultural plantations such as oil palm and rice. In 2003, the Forest Department of Sarawak estimated that only 1.4% of peat swamp forest remained in primary state due to uncontrolled logging practices. WWF Indonesia’s analysis indicates that most of the fires in Central Kalimantan in 2002 and 2003 were in peatlands (WWF 2007).
