The species is mainly threatend by the destruction of its forest habitat which in Borneo includes logging and palm oil plantation (WWF 2019, GFW 2019). There is a small population at Ranchan Recreational Park, where it is potentially threatened by recreational activities.

This species is not conserved ex situ eventhough BGCI (2020) lists it; it was a misidentification of the collection at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. It is protected at Batang Air NP and Balai Ringin Protected forest (Protected Planet 2020).
