État de la populationExpert
No population data are available for this species. With ongoing forest loss it is suspected that the population would be decreasing.

Description complète des menacesExpert
Much of the lowland forest of Peninsular Malaysia has been cleared for cultivation, mainly for rubber and oil palm. Additionally logging activity often degrades forest habitats and fires may also pose a threat (Rainforest Conservation Fund 2016). Other threats include mining, road building and urban expansion. The conservation status of the Peninsular Malaysian lowland and montane forest is considered Vulnerable (WWF 2015).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is conserved in many botanic gardens, for example, Tenom Agricultural park (Sabah), Singapore Botanic Gardens, the Botanical Garden, Erlangen, Germany and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Kirchoff and Kunze 1995). Specimen records fall about 25 km from the Taman Negara National Park and close to two other forest reserves, but it is not certain whether this species is found within them. Taman Negara is considered to be a well-protected lowland moist forest ecosystem (Rainforest Conservation Fund 2016).
