État de la populationExpert
The number of individuals of O. tuleyi is not known but the species is reported to be common in disturbed areas, especially in recently opened logging concession (Sunderland 2012).
Description complète des menacesExpert
There are no major threats to this species across its distribution range. However, this rattan may be locally threatened by habitat loss as in the Rumpi Hill Forest Reserve (Birdlife International 2001) and the Southern Bakundu Forest Reserve in Cameroon (Lemawah 2014). At the end of the 1990s, sub-populations of this rattan were threatened by habitat loss along the Cameroon-Nigeria border. A part of this area is now classified as National Park, and we assume that habitat loss in this area has now stopped.
