Description complète des menacesExpert
The species is threatened by habitat loss as forests are cleared for the expansion of agriculture and cattle grazing (conservacionpatagonica 2017). The species is also susceptible to forest fires. It is at risk from unsustainable logging and silviculture practices however research is being conducted to find the best method of silviculture.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is reported from 20 ex situ collections (BGCI 2017). This species is also found within protected areas. Sustainable silvicultural methods should continue to be investigated and harvest of the species should be monitored to ensure sustainability. The effect of habitat loss on the species should also be investigated.
