Description complète des menacesExpert
Over the past few decades the decline in population numbers has been rapid as the habitat has been logged and cleared for cultivation of commercial crops, such as bananas. The Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) was a threat until it was controlled, but it is not yet eliminated, so they can still be a threat.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is not found in a protected area, however, it is recorded from 15 ex situ collections in botanic gardens worldwide (BGCI 2017). Due to its restricted range near intense human activity and without formal protective status close monitoring and further research is needed on population trends.
